You can’t hide yourself behind what you write. Your consciousness shapes the choice of words, topics, and images you use. Your vibe comes through your comments and other interactions with others.

Customer Service

I blocked a Medium member today. It’s not something I enjoy doing nor is it a regular occurrence. If you read my articles, you know I stir the pot sometimes, I reply to trolls and I will genuinely read and engage with others.

You see, I’ve spent my working life facing the public and I quickly learned: the way to someone’s heart was to be kind, helpful and willing. The phrase I used when greeting patients was: “How can I help you today.” It remains the single most important way to initiate and provide customer service.

So much so, I found my co-workers repeating it at their stations. It is remarkably useful. It’s easier to say no, not now, or I’ll try later, when facing the public. It’s far harder to begin by saying…
